Violet

Escape while you can or turn around and face me again
You mesmerize - like ice, melting me. Her shade were you.
Subtlety was your strength. How long can you hold?
Chaos within your soul, so hard to control.
Bleeds into your ears - “Let me go.”
Your feet give in and you fall.
Look up to the sky. Cry.
Purple death? No, violet.

Standing on the edge of this blade,
I’ll trip and tumble to my end.
I look you straight in the eye,
and you kill courage in mine.
Demonic shade.
Crimson waters flood the bliss,
before the sun sets you’ll come again.
In twilight your madness springs.
violet - violence. Kill your own kind.
Your influence devours the mind.
You give new meaning to sin.
Death be their acquaintance, misery their kin.
Babylon burned in your shade.

Puritan darkness complete.
Loathing the bright and blue.
Such malice and hate, such blood-lust.
You inspire me. You fulfill me.
Enslaved by your hypnotic hue,
unprejudiced love I swear to you.
Caress my delirium, cradle my insanity,
overwhelm me.
Kill me. I love you.
You’re so unkind. Heartless.
You captivate me.
Sing me a carillon of thousand laments.
Pacify need and disorder.
Depress and destroy my will.
You’re welcome still.
Violet.
